Get yer freak on!

A principal out in California is banning all dances for the remainder of the year, including the prom. He claims the students are freak dancing and he's fed up with it.

Ummmm.... not so long ago it was Elvis they would only show from the waist up and rock 'n roll was considered blasphemy. These kids seem all worried about missing their prom. I say, rent Footloose and see if there is anything to be learned there.

I'm posting anonymously b/c I cannot remember by password. It's your sister, Jen. You should get back to work and worry about the bigger issues ... like the Brad-Jennifer split. Also, I'm I the only one who watches Project Runway? It was great last night - two episodes with much drama, crying, shrieking and blow dried hair - all from just one guy!

And, Dan, glad to know about the Garage and NIN updates. Love Dave Grohl, too.

I'm posting anon b/c I'm too lazy to make a username and password. It's your co-worker, Heidi, Jen. Maybe you should revisit this idea when you chaperone a high school dance and see various guys "grinding" on Jerell....or Jerell "grinding" on various guys.

Now now.... I am not advocating freak dancing here. I am just saying that at one time, other types of dancing were seen as unacceptable. And, watching Footloose would just serve as an example of how one group of kids were able to have their prom.

I'll just finish with this. Holding up Foot Loose as an example not only dates you, but it's not grounded in any sort of reality. It's a town where no one dances ever, then suddenly b/c some surly kid with a VW bug waltzes into town all the kids (except the token hayseed kid) all know the latest dances. Oh wait. They must have all sat around watching American Bandstand. Okay, now I'm dating myself .....

I don't think he "waltzed" into town. If that were true, I think the movie would've turned out quite differently.
