Y Tu Mama, Tambien, Talk To Her and Amores Perros made me fall in love with Latin cinema. This past weekend, I finally saw Bad Education, which is a Pedro Almodavor film, which means its emotions are huge, its sensibility is eccentric, and the filmmkaing is beautiful. This, more than any movie I can remember in recent history, reminded me of an Alfred Hitchcock film. Very, very twisty. Only there wasn't a blond bombshell (Janet Leigh or Kim Novak). There was a transvestite named Ignacio, sort of played by Gael Garcia Bernal.
Check it out.
