Office Webisodes

'Office' work: New webisodes over slow summerThere will be no summer break for employees at the Dunder Mifflin paper company. NBC said yesterday that it will offer 10 stand alone webisodes of "The Office" this summer, available at nbc.com. The shows will center around a missing $3,000, and the search to find the culprit, under the sort-of watchful eye of regional manager Michael Scott (Steve Carell). NBC wants "Office" groupies to stay interested in the show during the summer, after its improbable revival from disastrous first season to mid-level hit in its second. Since moving to important Thursday nights in January, "The Office" is averaging a 4.5 rating among adults 18-49 and 8.7 million total viewers. That’s up from its earlier Tuesday run this season (3.7 in 18-49s, 7.7 million total viewers) and from last year's meager Tuesday numbers (2.5 in 18-49s, 5.4 million total viewers).
